How should my wetsuit fit?
We are currently stocked in Stand Up Surf in North Fremantle, Western Australia, otherwise we are online only. However, if you are unhappy with the fit you are welcome to exchange the size for free with our prepaid delivery option. Just get in touch with Amanda and the team to arrange.
BOLDE wetsuits are true to size, meaning, if you are a size 12 in clothing you will likely be a size 12 in our wetsuits. If in between sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size. As wetsuit sizes vary between different brands, we always recommend checking the size guide before purchasing your BOLDE wetsuit.
A wetsuit should be tight, like a second skin, but without restricting your range of motion. Once wet, a wetsuit will loosen slightly and after a few wears it should start to become more comfortable as it conforms to your body shape. See our blog on fitting your wetsuit for more details.
Wetsuit care
After each wear, wash your wetsuit in fresh, cold, or lukewarm water by hand. If you
wish to give your wetsuit a deeper clean, use a cleaner made especially for wetsuits or a mild, liquid soap like baby shampoo.
Hang your wetsuit inside out, folded over a line in the shade (out of direct sunlight). Once the inside is dry, turn the right side out to finish drying.
Store your wetsuit flat or hanging (folding can cause permanent creasing).
Please do NOT do any of the following as it will reduce the life of your wetsuit and
void your warranty.
- Do not dry clean your wetsuit or use stain remover, clothes washing detergent, bleach,
fabric softener or any other harsh chemicals.
- Do not use hot water to wash your wetsuit.
- Do not put your wetsuit in the washing machine or dryer.
- Do not fold your wetsuit for storage, the neoprene will crease and not recover.
- Do not iron your wetsuit.
- Do not use your wetsuit in chlorinated swimming pools or spa’s.
- Do not leave your wetsuit in a hot car for extended periods as excessive heat
causes material delamination and the breakdown of the rubber and laminates.
- Do not dry or store in direct sunlight, UV rays can deteriorate the fabric.
- Avoid getting creams or lotions on your wetsuit at this can stain or discolour it.
Please never put your wetsuit in a dryer. Dryers are too hot and will damage the neoprene. Please always follow the care instructions to get the most of your BOLDE wetsuit.
Please do not put your wetsuit in the washing machine as this can reduce the life expectancy of the suit and will wave your warranty. Please always follow the care
instructions to get the most out of your BOLDE wetsuit.

General
A steamer is a full-length wetsuit made from neoprene that covers your entire body from the wrists and ankles up. Designed for cooler
water activities and for those who feel the cold during the warmer months.
A springsuit is a made from neoprene and is designed to
protect your upper body. It is a lighter alternative to a steamer but offers more protection than a jacket, which makes it the perfect option for those transitional seasons such as autumn and spring, or for those who feel the cold during summer.
A wetsuit jacket is made from neoprene and protects your
arms and torso. A great staple for your water adventures when conditions are too warm for a steamer but too cool for just bathers. The jacket has a front zip, making it super easy to slip on and off over your bathers.
What you wear under your wetsuit is entirely up to you and comes down to personal preference. You can wear nothing under your wetsuit, which can sometimes be the most comfortable option, however, you may wish to wear bathers so that you may remove your wetsuit while you are out.
If wearing bathers, we highly recommend ones without beading as this can damage both your wetsuit and bathers. If you are looking for extra warmth then you can opt for a thermal vest or leggings under
your suit.
Yes, this is part of how a wetsuit keeps you warm. A thin layer of water becomes trapped between the wetsuit and your skin.
Your body heat increases the temperature of that layer of water keeping you warmer for longer.
A wetsuit should be tight, like a second skin, but without restricting your range of motion. Once wet, a wetsuit will loosen slightly and after a few wears it should start to become more comfortable as it conforms to your body shape.
BOLDE wetsuits are designed by women, for women. We create wetsuits with a woman’s unique body shape in mind so that you will always have the perfect fit.
No, BOLDE wetsuits are designed specifically for a woman’s unique body shape.
You can wear bathers under your wetsuit; however, we recommend wearing ones without beading as this can damage both your bathers and wetsuit.
It is not recommended. Wetsuits are designed to be tight so that they can effectively keep you warm. A man’s body shape is significantly different to a woman’s, which means that it may be less effective at keeping
you warm and more difficult to take on and off.
Yes, although best to avoid cotton leggings and instead opt for ones made from tight neoprene fabric.
Our wetsuits do not knowingly
deter sharks. They are however made using the BEST Japanese
limestone-based neoprene, resulting in greater warmth, flexibility, and comfort for
a superior water experience.
BOLDE wetsuits are made using the highest-grade material for a superior water experience and longevity of your wetsuits. We
don’t skimp on quality, so you really get what you pay for!
BOLDE wetsuits are made from the best Japanese, limestone-based neoprene(Yamamoto), the BEST neoprene in the world and a more sustainable option than petroleum-based neoprene. The neoprene is made using renewable energy sources such as hydroelectricity and has high
flexibility, excellent heat insulation and extremely low density (lightweight).
Yes! The best way to prevent sun burn is to cover up. BOLDE wetsuits offer 50+ sun protection. We do of course recommend using reef safe sunscreen for those exposed areas.
